I was at Hank's New Year's Eve party last night and it was AWESOME. Hank put on one kick-a$$ show. He had the crowd revved up, including myself. Was anyone else from this forum there last night????????

I know of a few that were there but haven't heard from any of them since the concert. Glad you had fun and welcome to the board.

I REALLY wanted to go to that show, but it was a little too far for me to drive. But, yes, there were a few from the board that went. Tell us more. Don't leave us hanging. :D

It was an awesome concert. About 12 of us went and each one of us enjoyed it. Only wish cameras were allowed in the arena tho.

Hank took the stage around 10:30 and played until going on 1. He performed quiet a few of his big hits including "All My Rowdy Friends Have Settled Down", "Elijah" , "A country Boy Can Survive", and others. By the time Hank took the stage a majority of the arena was ' high as a kite' and just went wild when he finally came onstage. At midnight they dropped ballons from the ceiling while Hank was still singing his heart out. From the crowd's reaction, I gotta a feeling Bocephus will be back in town before too long.

Thanks for the review. That sounds like a really nice way to have spent New Year's Eve. Hank is the KING. He can get a party going like nobody's business. ;rock Seriously, I hope you visit the board often. We are all HUGE Hank fans and many of us have met up at concerts here or there.

Thank you very much. Next time Bocephus is in town maybe some of us can meet up and party together. Throughout the day yesterday rumors began circulating that he was going to have Gretchen Wilson and Big & Rich as his 2 "special guests" but the rumors were false. Hank rocks :-)

Did I read that .38 Special was the opening act for that show? ;scr I'm probably going to regret not going.

.38 Special was there last New Year's Eve with Skynyrd. Chris Jansen was an opening act last night for Bocephus.

I live nearby pikeville, and let me say, there are several hardcore hank fans in the area, i knew before hand, that the crowd was going to be raising hell, he's a hero here. It was my first concert in 7 years, and the only reason i went, was because i'd never gotten to see hank in concert before, he played fiddle, piano, electric and acoustic guitar, and was great at all of it. Got more and more into the opening act, chris jansen,as they played on, especially when he started playing harmonica, the guy is very energetic and it rubs off on the crowd. Really hope hank comes back, and as great as the crowd sung family tradition, i mean, it was more or less most of the song, him holding the mic to the crowd and the crowd singing nearly the whole song VERY LOUDLY AND VERY CLEARLY, he seemed really touched by that, i really hope he comes back next new year's eve or any fri or sat nite, or any nite. Loved it when he sung johnny cash's walk the line, felt like cash was there singing it himself, loved his willie nelson impersonation, who in the hell couldn't have a good time at a hank concert, it was terrific, thanks HANK!!

When Hank mentioned Randy McCloy, the only survivor of the Sago tragedy in one of his songs, I knew then and there that Hank really cares about his fans. He's not a fake or phoney. Ol' Bocephus is the real deal. Another favorite part of the show was when he sang Waylon's "Dukes" theme song.

Some of you may not know this but Hank visited Randy McCloy in the hospital shortly after the tragedy.
