Well Folks I am back from Dayton, Ohio and let me tell you what a night of music it was last night. .38 Special came out and played a 45 minute set which was very good . They played there hits such as Rockin' Into The Night, Fantasy Girl, Teacher Teacher, and Hold on Loosely to name a few. They were a pretty good act to open up the evening. Next came Lynyrd Skynyrd and this was my first ever Lynyrd Skynyrd Concert actually being there and let me tell you what they put on a great show as well and really rocked the place. They played a bunch of there hits such as Gimmie Three Steps, That Smell, Red Whit and Blue, Curtis Lowe, What's Your Name, Sweet Home Alabama which doing this song there was a pretty blonde showing her ;flash for a good 2 minutes which was lovely lol  , and they ended on Free Bird which lasted for about 15 minutes. All in All Skynyrd Rocked the place and the best was yet to come. Hank went on at 9:55 and started out rockin with Women I've Never Had, that was followed by If Heaven Ain't Alot Like Dixie, The Conversation, Blues Man, That's How They Do It In Dixie, Kaw-Liga. He then played on the Piano which he played some of your cheatin heart, and then there's a whole lotta shakin goin on. He did a very good Acoustic Set which last around 30 minutes playing Dinosaur, Outlaw Women, All My Rowdy Friends Have Settled down which he started out playing the first 4 lines then went into Waylon's the Good Ole Boys, and then Johnny Cash's I walk the Line and then went back to All My Rowdy Friends Have Settled Down and finished that which it was really unique how he did it but was very good. He also played Whiskey Bent and Hell Bound, The Teet-Tot Song, and ofcourse A Country Boy Can Survive, Then back to Born To Boogie, Played some of Can't You See, Cat Scratch Fever, Walk This Way, I Really Like Girls, and Finished with Family Tradition. Hank Finished at around 11:10 and put on a Great Show. Not the longest show I've seen Hank do but considering the other acts I wasn't expecting it to be. Hank kept mentioning how his back was bothering him and how the doctors said he wouldn't be up around and jumping and he said well guess what I'm Here. At the end of Family Tradition he was going if you don't like cortizone, If you don't like Kid Rock, If you don't like Lynyrd Skynyrd you can kiss my @$$. I think Hank was kind of fighting a bad back not sure how he got it but he kept referring to it and was like I'm gone get Stoned for medicinal purposes after the show when he was singing family tradition. All I can say is another AWESOME Show by Bocephus and I can't wait til June 8th for my next concert. I also got to meet Bocephus55 which was awesome. He seemed to be a like a very caring man and it was a joy to meet him although I think he was a little liquored up but atleast he's a happy drunk anyway lol

Thanks for the review, man. That is too bad about Hank's back. I hope it is just one of those temporary things. I often have wondered if he still has any lasting problems from the mountain fall, so I hope it is nothing like that.

Actually Hank kept mentioning his Mountain Fall throughout the Concert so that might be from it but it's just speculation.

It sounds like it was great. And yes Bo55 is a sweetheart.
I read a few years ago that Hank does have problems with his back to the fall. It must flare up every now and then.

Yes I did, and a great review 07, it sure was great to meet you and your dad. Sorry I didn't get to spend a little more time with you, but things were moving pretty fast!..just to add a little to what 07 has mentioned, a hugh crowd!...I was talking with some folks before the concert 'bout how long it had been since Hank had been in Dayton. The closest we could remember was in the 80's..Lynyrd Skynyrd really rocked, and .38 special started thing off on the right foot! Had the croud really rockin'...I felt Hank got the short end of the stick when It came to time on stage, but guess the back issue had alot to do with it. Not much time between bands. Went to get a beer, and take a "you know what", and Hank was already into "Women I've Never Had"..I am sorry I miss the gal and her show!.. ;flash Got some vids I hope to get posted soon!...and 07, you are right, I was a little wasted, but not enough that I don't remember everything! :D and besides, I'm always a "Happy Drunk"... :D   All in all, a great concert.

Nobody saw Hank in Dayton in 1996, as part of the "Wham Bam Tour," and the man has been in Cincinnati and Dayton since, because as Hank himself said on music-reviewer.com in a 2002 interview, "[...] we do more in merchandise in Ohio than anywhere else [...]."

I saw Hank at Riverbend in Cincy a couple of years ago, but couldn't remember the last Dayton concert. As far as the merchandise coment, I can believe it. You couldn't get next to the tshirt spot, it was three and four rows deep! :D Dayton does love Hank!... :D
