I just thought I would post this and see if others think the same.

OK... Here I go again. Hank is the BEST at MNF, period. However.....

This years opening is not one of his best. The stars this year, in my opinion, don't sound that great playing together. I've said this on other threads, but darn I miss that BAMA BAND! I'm tellin ya...

I don't mind it this year. I don't think the bama band was ever in mnf opening theme. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't remember ever seeing them. They may have been in the very first one, but I don't think so. I think its great with the horns and so forth this year.

I was thinking the same thing, but I wasn't absolutely sure. That's why I hesitated to respond. ;scr But generally speaking, as long as Hank is in it I like it pretty good. MNF attracts a pretty wide array of tastes, so they have to cater a little bit to the rock fans, pop fans, rap fans, or whatever.

Yes! They played several mnf themes throughout the years. Many of the videos were lipsynced and stuff and had the Bama Band kickin' ass!

Merle Kilgore had me tape EVERY single MNF intro from the day Hank started it, till Merle passed away. I never did know why he wanted me to tape them, he just asked so I did.
I just got rid of ALL the tapes. Too bad I wasn't on this site a month ago, I would have mailed u some of the tapes.

Noticed on Youtube, he and Gloria Estefan are doing a Spanish version. Interesting.
